Boston Bruins Win Stanley Cup

By - Kris Fletcher

For the first time in thirty-nine years, Lord Stanley's Cup has returned to Boston.

Tim Thomas, who was named the Conn Smythe award winner as the MVP of the postseason, made 37 saves, while Patrice Bergeron and rookie Brad Marchand scored 2 goals apiece as the Bruins defeated the Vancouver Canucks in Game 7 by a final of 4-0.

With the victory, Boston becomes the first team in NHL history to win three Game 7's in the same postseason.

For Vancouver, it was a bitter way to have their season end, as they let a golden opportunity to be champions slip away. They blew both a 2-0 and 3-2 series lead, and also managed to drop Game 7 in front of their home crowd.

In nearly forty-one years of existence, they've yet to win the Stanley Cup.
