Bleacher Babe of the Month: September, 2013

By - Kris Fletcher

It's hard to believe that this edition of the Bleacher Babe of the Month marks the one-year anniversary of the initial column.

The original plan was to only run the segment through December of last year. But because of all the positive feedback we received over the first four months, we decided to run it for an entire year. Now here we are, the final installment of the series. Hope you've enjoyed it as much as we've enjoyed bringing it to you.

Time for the main event. So without further ado, I give you Jenny Green!

Hello! I'm Jenny, and I'm really excited to be the Bleacher Babe of the Month for September! The anniversary edition no less!

I grew up in California and made the move to Nashville roughly two years ago. In the beginning I only came to the area to visit a friend, but I liked it so much I decided to stay!

Baseball is my favorite sport, and my favorite team is the Chicago Cubs. My parents always followed them, so I watched them play pretty religiously growing up. I mean, how could you not love Harry Caray?!?

My all-time favorite player has to be Kerry Wood. I used to love watching him do his thing. The guy had a killer curveball! It's a shame he had a hard time staying healthy, because I truly believe he had the kind of stuff that could have made him one of the best pitchers to ever play the game. Even with all the injuries, he still ended up having a solid career.

Bleacher Babe of the Month: August, 2013

By - Kris Fletcher

With Major League Baseball's postseason races really starting to heat up, what better time than now to feature a young lady that is all about America's favorite pastime?

Allow me to introduce Ms. Breanne Royce, our Bleacher Babe for the month of August!

Hi everyone! I'm Bree, and I'm super excited about being this month's Bleacher Babe!

I guess this is the part where I'm supposed to tell you a little bit about myself, right? Well, I'm 25-years-old and was born and raised in the greatest city on the planet, St. Louis, Missouri. I've been a huge baseball fanatic my entire life, and my favorite team is (of course) the Cardinals!

Some of my fondest childhood memories took place at old Busch Stadium. My parents are huge baseball fans as well, and they would take me to as many games as possible each and every year. I remember my dad calling in sick to work on many an occasion just to take my mom and I to an afternoon game. It made me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

As I got older I started playing softball, which made me love baseball even more. Watching games is one thing, but actually participating in them is something entirely different. I loved everything about it. Being around my friends. Hearing my parents in the stands cheering me on. The smell of the grass. The dirt. Everything. I was a total tomboy!

Bleacher Babe of the Month: July, 2013

By - Kris Fletcher

Let's just cut right to the chase here, since I'm sure nearly everyone that frequents this site knows the routine by now. New month, new Bleacher Babe.

With that, meet Jennifer Somers!

Hey! I'm Jen, and I'm really excited about being this month's Bleacher Babe!

As you may have already guessed, I'm a fan of THE Ohio State University. Even though I live in Tennessee, I'm not a Volunteer fan. Orange just isn't my color. It's Buckeyes all day for me, baby!

As far as baseball goes, again, as you may have already guessed, I love Boston, and have been a proud member of Red Sox Nation for a long time. I'm still trying to get to Fenway to catch a game live. That's at the very top of my list of things to do.

Player wise, I'm a big Josh Beckett fan, and I hated to see him get traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He's been one of my favorite players for as long as I can remember.

Bleacher Babe of the Month: June, 2013

By - Kris Fletcher

It's the 1st of the month (cue Bone Thugs-N-Harmony music), so you know what that means; time for the latest installment of our Bleacher Babe series!

So without further delay, I give you Amy Ayar!

Hi! My name is Amy, and I'm really excited to be this month's Bleacher Babe!

I'm a Chaldean-American with four children. I was born and raised in Michigan, and root for all the Detroit teams. I also pull for the Wolverines in college sports.

As you hockey fans already know, it's playoff time, and I'm so proud of my Red Wings for making their 22nd-consecutive postseason appearance! Sadly, they lost Game 7 to the Blackhawks, but I know they'll be back and better than ever next year!

Some of my all-time favorite players are Gordie Howe, Bob Probert, Steve Yzerman, Paul Coffey, Chris Osgood, Brendan Shanahan, Pavel Datsyuk and the Russian Five (Slava Fetisov, Vladimir Konstantinov, Slava Kozlov, Sergei Fedorov and Igor Larionov). I could go on and on!

Bleacher Babe of the Month: May, 2013

By - Kris Fletcher

I suppose I could start things off by raving about how successful this series has been since it first launched back in September, and how the majority of feedback we've received has been extremely positive. But at this stage of the game, why delay the main event any longer than we have to?

Many of you already know the routine, which is why you're here in the first place. For those of you that don't, it's pretty simple: The 1st of each month means a new Bleacher Babe.

So with that, meet Stacey Marie Strait!

Hi everyone! I'm Stacey, and I'm really excited to be the Bleacher Babe for the month of May!

Let me start by saying that I'm big on all kinds of sports, but first things first. My very favorite pastime is cheering for my son James at all of his games, and trust me when I say he plays a lot of them! Basketball, baseball, football and rugby, just to name a few.

And yes, I'm "that" mom, coaching from the stands. I've even been known to get in their huddle at times. :)

I pull for the Washington Huskies in college football, and in the NFL my team is the San Francisco 49ers. Even though they came up just a little bit short in this year's Super Bowl, it was great to see them make it that far and nearly pull off the comeback win. I still have faith that my man Patrick Willis will lead the Niners to a title soon!

Bleacher Babe of the Month: April, 2013

By - Kris Fletcher

With the NFL Draft taking place later this month, we figured we'd get an early jump on the football festivities by bringing in a young lady that's all about the pigskin.

Now I must admit, I'm a little partial to this month's featured Bleacher Babe. In all honesty, she may very well be my favorite one to date. Granted, the fact that she's a New England Patriots fan has a whole lot to do with it, but hey, she's kick-ass nonetheless.

So without further ado, I give you Amanda Canada!

Hi guys, my name is Amanda, and I'm very excited to be this month's Bleacher Babe!

The first thing you should know about me is that I'm a huge football fan. Huge. And what better team to root for than the New England Patriots?!? I know, I know. Some of you are booing right now, but that's okay. It's all part of the fun.

I live with a Baltimore Ravens fan, and as you can imagine, football season is a pretty big deal at our house. There are many nights where one of us (meaning him) ends up sleeping on the couch. Yes, it's that serious!

To me, it's about more than just the game itself, though. It's the beer, chicken wings, tailgating, and overall stadium experience in general. Oh, and did I mention beer? Those things make it the best for me. Being able to dress up in my favorite outfit on game day and becoming a take no prisoners fan. It's the perfect way to bring your family and friends together.

Bleacher Babe of the Month: March, 2013

By - Kris Fletcher

Six months ago we introduced our Bleacher Babe of the Month series, and needless to say, it has been a rousing success. So for March, we decided to up the ante a bit -- with a quartet!

So without further delay, from the Nashville Sports League kickball team "Pitch Please," I give you (from bottom left to right) Kelly Elaine, Audrey Moore, Briana Minter and Fay Dickens!

Kelly: Hi everyone! I'm Kelly, one of the Pitch Please Bleacher Babes of the Month for March!

I've always loved playing sports, especially basketball, softball, and my favorite, kickball. I played center and forward for my high school basketball team, and I loved having the opportunity to be aggressive and blow off steam on the court. Back then, no one could get past me in the paint. :)

My favorite college basketball team is the Vanderbilt Commodores (men and women)! Win or lose, they put their hearts into the game and never give up without a fight!

My new favorite way to relieve stress is playing kickball. Our team is fun, but we're fierce, and we can hang with the best of them!

Bleacher Babe of the Month: February, 2013

By - Kris Fletcher

For the past few months, we've had multiple requests to feature one of our own columnists as the Bleacher Babe of the Month. Call me crazy, but I'm thinking people just want to see more pics of our ladies besides the ones in the "Our Team" section.

Can't say that I blame them, though.

Anyway, as the old saying goes, ask and you shall receive. So without further ado, I give you Lauren Dundee!

Hey y'all, I'm Lauren! And I'm really excited to be the Bleacher Babe for February!

A lot of you know me from my weekly columns on the site, but this is going to be a bit different. As many of you are well aware, I am a diehard baseball fan. I live and die by the Boston Red Sox, so if you're a Yankee fan, now might be the time to stop reading.

I grew up a Red Sox fan, and the team has been a part of my life since birth. I remember the names of the greats I followed since as long as I can remember; Wakefield, Pedro, Nom-ah and Tek. They were my heroes.

I've been through it all with them; watching them fail, having my heart straight up broken in 2003, and holding my dad tight at the cemetery with tears streaming down our faces as we placed a 2004 World Series pennant on my grandfather's grave. One of the many who never got to see the Sox win it all.

My first trip to Fenway goes down as probably my favorite memory. The atmosphere, the crowd, the energy. I felt like I was home. It was absolutely amazing.

Bleacher Babe of the Month: January, 2013

By - Kris Fletcher

Happy New Year, everyone! Hope our legion of followers enjoyed the holidays.

Now that those are behind us and 2013 is officially underway, it's time for the latest installment of our Bleacher Babe of the Month series.

So without further delay, meet Hannah Frazier!

Hi! I'm Hannah! And I'm really excited to be the first Bleacher Babe of 2013!

Did you make any New Year's resolutions? If you're like most people, you made at least one. And if you're like the majority of those, your resolution is probably related to health and fitness.

How about making it a reality this year?

Be that person you want to be and have that body you've always wanted to have!

Now don't get me wrong, it won't come easy. But nothing worth having ever does! It takes motivation! It takes willpower! Most importantly, you have to stay focused!

Bleacher Babe of the Month: December, 2012

By - Kris Fletcher

A steady rise of smoke, the squealing of thick wall tires, and the distinguished smell of rubber are what introduce our Bleacher Babe for the month of December.

So without further ado, meet Ronda Cooley!

Hi, I'm Ronda! Now take off those ear muffs and through the rumble allow me to point out some of the highlights of racing -- whether it's no right turns or heading down the drag strip.

Racing is my favorite sport because contrary to its nasty misconception of being "red neck," it actually takes skill, knowledge, strategy, strength, and determination.

No guys, I'm not just taking about myself here, but the sport itself.

Of course, another great thing about racing is the power.

Come on, what woman, or man for that matter, doesn't like an insane amount of power? It's right there at your fingertips. It's all yours, and how you take control of it is what gets you to the finish line. At that moment, there is no other emotion other than the strategy to win.

Going down the strip against a fellow competitor or way up in the nose bleeds, you feel it -- the vibrations. You hear the roar of the motor giving back what you and your crew put in it. You're controlling it, and developing a continuous line of strategy play-by-play.

Bleacher Babe of the Month: November, 2012

By - Kris Fletcher

It's the 1st of the month again, so you know what that means -- Bleacher Babe of the Month time!

With that, I give you this month's Bleacher Babe, Kim Cooley!

Hey y'all, I'm Kim, and I'm really excited to be this month's Bleacher Babe!

So who's ready to talk baseball?

The first thing that comes to my mind is the classic movie, Field of Dreams. You know, that ever so memorable line, "If you build it, he will come." Kevin Costner builds a baseball diamond in his cornfield to ultimately reunite with his father who passed away when he was younger so they can have a game of catch.

Ugh! Tears*

Okay, so I may not be the best chick to talk baseball with, but here's my point of view on it anyways!

Baseball is known as "America's favorite pastime." It's a great sport for girls to watch in particular, because what girl doesn't like watching ball players who fill out their uniforms so well?! :)

Hey, it's only fair guys, since we all know you don't read Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue for the articles.

Let's talk about the setup of the field. A woman had to have come up with that one, because everyone knows a diamond is a girl's best friend!

Bleacher Babe of the Month: October, 2012

By - Kris Fletcher

In September, we debuted our newest monthly segment entitled "Bleacher Babe of the Month."

Needless to say, it was a rousing success. After all, the only thing better than sports -- are attractive women that follow them!

But hey, enough from me. Without further ado, I give you this month's Bleacher Babe, Katie Watts!

Hi there! I'm Katie, and I'm totally excited to be the second-ever Bleacher Babe of the Month!

I'm supposed to write a little bit about myself, and since I think it's a safe assumption that you go to work tired Tuesday morning because you're glued to the TV Monday night and are already excited to complete your next March Madness bracket, I figured I'd do this with a twist.

I enjoy sports in a lot of different ways. First, there's the obvious -- watching sports. I watch every Vanderbilt home football game from the stands, and I'm still currently riding the coach James Franklin bandwagon (yes, even with the season so far). Other than a Titans game or two every year, I mostly stick to television for the rest of my football viewing. That usually means a computer is convenient for constant fantasy football monitoring!

When it comes to basketball and hockey, taking a game in live is the ONLY way to go, because doing my "fang fingers" to a television screen seems a little too cheesy, even for me.

And watching sports isn't just about watching the game for me either. I mean, I definitely care about who wins or loses, but there's so much more. The tailgating (with adult beverages, of course). The unified chants. The music. The jersey that has to be worn to show your team dedication. The Super Bowl party food. The push-ups (don't ask). The smack talk. The friends. Game day wouldn't be the same without them.

Neither would life.

Bleacher Babe of the Month: September, 2012

By - Kris Fletcher

We here at The Bleacher Briefings are continuing to strive towards making the site all the more enjoyable and entertaining for you, our followers.

From thought-provoking articles to in-depth podcasts, we try to do everything we can to keep you guys coming back for more.

We believe our newest monthly segment is sure to help do just that.

Beginning today, the site will feature a monthly "Bleacher Babe" -- because let's face it, the only thing better than sports...are attractive women that follow them!

So with that, I give you our very first Bleacher Babe of the Month, Candace Andrews!

Hello everyone! I guess I will start by introducing myself. My name is Candace, and I am 26-years-old.

My perspective of sports may catch you a little off guard, but I am going to fill you in on how most of the female species really thinks!

Let's start with the world's worst sport by far -- NASCAR.

OMG, really? Why do you think it usually airs on Sundays? It's like a sedative! Let's get real people, we all know the ropes. We sit down, fall asleep, and wake up just in time to see who wins. Then we flip it on over to ESPN to watch highlights of all the wrecks.

Yes, we as females know the real truth. Go ahead. Admit it. I know I'm right. ;)

Moving on, let's talk about golf. Totally boring to watch, at least until Tiger Woods decided to make a big mess out of his career, so now it's rather amusing to watch him squirm on the course as he falls apart every Sunday.
