Sharapova was obviously the clear-cut favorite heading into the match-up. She won the first of her three Grand Slam titles at the All-England Club back in 2004 when she was just 17-years-old.

Kvitova on the other hand, was playing in her first major final.

The 21-year-old left-hander finished with 19 winners and 13 unforced errors, while Sharapova had only 10 winners to go along with 12 unforced errors.

With the win, Kvitova will move up to #7 in the world rankings when they are released on Monday.
