Yao, 30, suffered a fracture in his left ankle back in December. The injury required season-ending surgery. He had played in only five games since the 2008-09 season due to a variety of injuries.

The 7-foot-6 center officially became a restricted free agent on July 1st.

He was the #1 overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft, and averaged 19 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest for his career.

  1. 我將想念姚。 籃球比賽的了不起的發言人。

  2. "Nooooooooooo" as in he's not retiring, or as in you don't want him to retire? Because it's gonna happen. Lol
