Former NFL quarterback and second overall pick in the 1998 draft Ryan Leaf is resting comfortably at home after having a benign tumor removed from his brain stem.

"I am looking forward to resting a bit and being with my family. Thank you for all the prayers and support. My whole family truly appreciates it. This was just another bridge for me to cross, and I will continue to live each day to the fullest and give back where I can."
If you ask me, the real story here is that Leaf actually has a brain to have had surgery on in the first place. Who knew?
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the guys okay and all, but still. There are 78-year-old Alzheimer patients that can process and remember information faster than he could during his playing days.
Looking back on it now, it's hard to believe that many organizations thought Leaf was the better quarterback over Peyton Manning in that year's draft.
Nice call fellas.
No doubt one of the biggest busts in history. Probably between him and JaMarcus Russell for the top spot.
ReplyDeleteWow how long has he had the tumor? I mean whatif he developed it in cllege and that's what messed up his head and hi game. Maybe not but you gotta think about it. He had some skill
ReplyDeleteI always thought Leaf was overrated in college, but thats just me.
