Matti, 22, had last been seen swimming in the lake around 5 p.m. Sunday, according to a Department of Natural Resources officer.

"On behalf of the entire Purdue Boilermaker family, our hearts go out to Sean's family, Frank and Karen, Samantha, Kyle, Amanda, along with all those who knew and loved him," said Purdue Athletic Director Morgan Burke. "It is during difficult times like these that families must unite to grow stronger, and we extend our hands out to help however we can."

Matti was named all-state his junior and senior years at Roseville High School before joining the Boilermakers in 2007. He never appeared in a game while at Purdue.
