Brett Favre Possibly Going to the Eagles?

By - Brian Harrington

Here we go again. NBC-10 in Philadelphia is reporting that the Eagles are in preliminary talks with the oft-retired twenty year veteran quarterback.

If this proves true, it would be Favre's third team in four years after playing fifteen seasons in Green Bay. The story says that he would be coming in to backup Michael Vick, which already makes me a little suspicious.

ESPN's John Clayton reported that unless you see Rachel Nichols or Ed Werder jumping on a plane to Hattiesburg in the coming days, you probably shouldn't read much into this. Jay Glazer of Fox Sports also tweeted that he spoke to two Eagles sources, both of which emphatically denied the story.

Vick however, tweeted, "I would be honored to have Brett Favre as a backup. It would be amazing to learn how to toy with defenses the way he has his whole career."

Taking into consideration the fact that this is Brett Favre we're talking about here, nothing would really surprise me at this point.

  4. Not AGAIN. Use to love Favre, but now I'm ready for him to just go away.

  5. Just so happens that the Vick Tweet has since been removed, so the fact that he posted it and then removed it would imply at minimum that someone within the Eagles organization asked him how he would like to have Favre on the team...

  6. I hope Favre does play. He's an all time great and the league is better when he's in it. Is that really Skip Bayless that left a comment? Is there a way to really know? If it is, thats badass.

  7. This proves Vick is a fool. You don't give the thumbs up to having someone come in who can take your job. He of all people should know that. McNabb did that WITH VICK in Philly, and it ended up costing McNabb his job.
