By - Kris Fletcher

Last week, police issued arrest warrants for LSU starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson and reserve linebacker Joshua Johns for their alleged roles in a fight outside of a bar in Baton Rouge on August 19th that injured four people.

According to their attorney Nathan Fisher, the two will turn themselves in today.

Baton Rouge police Sgt. Don Stone said in a statement that investigators contacted Fisher and LSU coach Les Miles, and asked for the players to turn themselves in.

"We will continue to cooperate with the authorities in an effort to find out exactly what took place during the incident," Miles said.  "As sad as this incident is, it's important that we learn from this and that we take away a valuable lesson. This has weighed on all of us. It's time for us to come together as a team and focus on what we are here to do."

The school has suspended Jefferson and Johns indefinitely.

In the police report, 19-year-old Victoria Long said she witnessed several LSU players beating one of the alleged victims, and specifically saw Jefferson kick that man in the face.

In the hours following the fight, four people were treated and released from an area hospital. Police have said one person had three fractured vertebrae, an injury serious enough to warrant felony charges.

On Wednesday, police executed a search warrant of Jefferson's apartment and took forty-nine pairs of shoes, along with a DNA swab.

Senior Jarrett Lee will now likely start at quarterback for the #4 ranked Tigers, who open their season in Dallas on September 3rd against the #3 ranked Oregon Ducks.

  1. Reports are that the LSU players didn't throw the first punch, but I doubt that'll help in court. Losing their starting qb is going to hurt them big time though. Probably just ruined their season.

  2. Jefferson actually had more interceptions (10) than touchdowns (7) last year. This may be a blessing in disguise for LSU.

  4. They didn't throw the first punch. Problem is they left after the initial altercation and then came back and re-initiated it. It's no longer self defense then. The only thing that may help them is the Marine that started this whole thing has a history of violence and the girl involved had an order of protection against him.

  5. That being said, they would be indefinitely suspended throughout the ensuing trial, so they'll probably miss the entire season regardless

  6. Yeah I'd say they're done for the season. I agree with Kevin though in that Jefferson isn't that good to begin with, so no big deal. Lol
