Bleacher Babe of the Month: June, 2013

By - Kris Fletcher

It's the 1st of the month (cue Bone Thugs-N-Harmony music), so you know what that means; time for the latest installment of our Bleacher Babe series!

So without further delay, I give you Amy Ayar!

Hi! My name is Amy, and I'm really excited to be this month's Bleacher Babe!

I'm a Chaldean-American with four children. I was born and raised in Michigan, and root for all the Detroit teams. I also pull for the Wolverines in college sports.

As you hockey fans already know, it's playoff time, and I'm so proud of my Red Wings for making their 22nd-consecutive postseason appearance! Sadly, they lost Game 7 to the Blackhawks, but I know they'll be back and better than ever next year!

Some of my all-time favorite players are Gordie Howe, Bob Probert, Steve Yzerman, Paul Coffey, Chris Osgood, Brendan Shanahan, Pavel Datsyuk and the Russian Five (Slava Fetisov, Vladimir Konstantinov, Slava Kozlov, Sergei Fedorov and Igor Larionov). I could go on and on!

If you can't tell, I'm proud to say that I root for one of the greatest organizations in all of sports!

The Pistons have struggled lately, but I have faith they'll get back on track soon. I'll never forget their 2004 season. They didn't have a single dominant player, but they were the best team in the league! They reminded me of the "Bad Boys" from the late 80s-early 90s. I hated seeing Chauncey Billups and Ben Wallace leave. They were the heart and soul of the club.

The Tigers are playing some good baseball this season, and hopefully they can get back to the World Series and avenge last year's loss to the Giants. Miguel Cabrera is doing his thing at the plate again, and I'm hoping he can win another Triple Crown!

I'm a huge football fan, and it was great to see the Lions back in the playoffs a few years ago for the first time since Barry Sanders was on the roster. I know this team is going to continue to grow and improve, and I expect them to have one of their best seasons ever in 2013!

Lastly, my two favorite non-Detroit athletes are LeBron James and Peyton Manning. They're both amazingly talented and so much fun to watch. Their resumes speak for themselves!

That's it for me. Glad I could be part of this! Take care! xoxo

  3. She's a really pretty girl, maybe the prettiest girl to date, but these are the three most boring pictures in the history of this series. Just plain head shots.
