More Negative Headlines For Von Miller

While Von Miller may be halfway through his six-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy, he continues to make headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Last week it was revealed that Miller conspired with an employee of an NFL contracted drug-testing facility in August to swap his urine sample in an attempt to corrupt the results. Their efforts were noticed by a secondary collector who realized the linebacker wasn't in the city where the test occurred.

The conspiring employee has since been terminated, and representatives of the testing facility are in talks with league officials to review procedures in the NFL/NFLPA joint testing program.

Because Miller popped positive for both marijuana and amphetamines in 2011, he was placed in the league's intervention program. A player can be found in violation of the NFL's drug policy if he misses a test, shows up late for testing or counseling, or tries to alter a sample.

The two-time Pro Bowler could have been slapped with a one-year suspension, but it was negotiated down to six games since the collector was also involved.

Unfortunately for Miller, this isn't the only negativity that has been connected to his name of late. The 24-year-old was arrested on August 11th on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court on charges of careless driving, driving without a license and no proof of insurance.

He was booked and released on bond.

It is also becoming evident that those in Miller's inner circle are having a hard time trusting him at this point. His parents have moved in with him since his suspension, and a representative from the Broncos' organization has been assigned to "work with him closely."

This essentially means Denver has a babysitter watching over the All-Pro to ensure he abides by NFL policies.

Did I mention he's 24?

It goes without saying that Miller is an exceptional talent on the field, but it remains to be seen whether he will take full responsibility for his actions and be able to overcome the mountain of mistakes he has made over the last several months.

If not, a once-promising career will be over sooner rather than later.
