The WrestleMania 27 Extravaganza

By - Kris Fletcher

We're only days away from the biggest wrestling event of the year, the WWE's version of the Super Bowl. WrestleMania 27 is this Sunday, so I figured I'd preview the scheduled matches and make some predictions.

And yes, I know that all the match results are already predetermined. But hey, The Rock is the guest host, so it should be worth watching for that reason alone. It's been a slow sports day and I'm really having to stretch here for a topic to cover, so cut me some slack on this one people.

Here goes...

* Big Show, Kane, Santino Marella, and Vladimir Kozlov vs. The Corre

Honestly, who cares? The Corre is already an established group, while the other team is basically just guys thrown together on the fly for the sake of giving The Corre a 4-on-4 match.

Winners: The Corre

* Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan

I've yet to figure out who's butt Daniel Bryan kissed to get where he is in the WWE. His character is just weak all around. Surely this guy will be in an unemployment line sooner rather than later. Sheamus has already held the WWE Championship, so the U.S. Title will hold him over until his next push at the main belt.

Winner: Sheamus

* John Morrison, Trish Stratus, and Snooki vs. Laycool and Dolph Ziggler

Wow. They should put a tent over this circus. This one gets an even bigger WHO CARES? I'll go with Ziggler and Laycool, just because I figure Vickie Guerrero will show up at some point and end up costing Morrison's team the match.

Winners: Dolph Ziggler and Laycool

* Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes

I'll give them this, they're REALLY trying to push Cody Rhodes character. For that reason, I think he almost has to get the win here, seeing as how Mysterio is already a top-level guy, and for whatever reason, they're trying to get Cody Rhodes to that same level.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

* Randy Orton vs. CM punk

If you ask me, the WWE is really trying to turn Orton into the new Stone Cold Steve Austin. That's real great and all, but I think they could drag this storyline out even longer if somehow Punk manages to get the victory, so I'm going with him.

Winner: CM Punk

* Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole w/ Jack Swagger (Referee: Stone Cold Steve Austin)

There is NO WAY Michael Cole wins this match. Cole has trashed Lawler on Raw for the better half of the last two months. Factor that in with the fact that this is Lawler's FIRST WrestleMania match of his career, plus add Stone Cold as the referee, and you've got a sure win for King.

Winner: Jerry Lawler

* The Undertaker vs. Triple H

Besides Lawler winning, this one is the biggest guarantee of the night. Undertakers streak has been in the works for 19 years, and it's NEVER GOING TO END. Ever. Mark it down. He will retire undefeated all-time at WrestleMania. I also find if funny that in the last month, they've yet to mention the fact that Undertaker and Triple H have ALREADY had a WrestleMania match. This one ends the same way as that one did, with Undertaker winning.

Winner: The Undertaker

* Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio

I know the WWE has no choice but to push newer guys for the future of the product, but Del Rio is nothing more than a remake of JBL. Edge is one of my favorite all-time wrestlers, so I'm not picking against him, and if he actually drops the belt to this tool, I may have to just start watching TNA. At least Jeff Hardy's on there...

Winner: Edge

* The Miz vs. John Cena

I know I'm in the minority here, but I actually like The Miz. After what John Cena did to The Rock this past Monday night on Raw, no doubt he'll become involved in this match at some point, probably layin' the smack down on both Cena and Miz. In the end, I like The Miz somehow managing to pull off the win. After all, he's AWWWWESOME. Besides, I can't stand John Cena, so I refuse to pick him regardless.

Winner: The Miz
