What was expected to be an evenly matched fight in the main event at UFC 131 turned into a lopsided decision for Junior dos Santos, as he defeated Shane Carwin by the scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 30-26.
Carwin was badly beaten and bloodied throughout the course of the contest. He even appeared to have suffered a broken nose during the late stages of the first round.

Velasquez is currently recovering from shoulder surgery, but could be ready to go by UFC 136, which takes place in October.
"Much respect to Cain Velasquez, but Cain, I'm coming for you," Santos said.
Santos (13-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) has now won eight consecutive fights, the last two by decision.
Didn't see this one coming. Big win for Dos Santos. He's for real.
